यह मंदिर चौरासी रोड, राधा नगर मथुरा में स्थित है। इसका निर्माण ई. 1800 में हुआ था। मन्दिर 20 फुट ऊँचे परकोटे से घिरा है। चूने और लखोरी ईटों से बना यह मन्दिर दो मंज़िला और सुन्दर है। मन्दिर में सम्यक दर्शन, सम्यक ज्ञान और सम्यक चैत्र नाम के तीन रास्ते है।
जम्बूस्वामी तीर्थंकर महावीर के अनुयायी सुधर्म के शिष्य थे। इनका जन्म चम्पा में सेठ ऋषभदत्त के पुत्र के रूप में हुआ था। यह माना जाता है कि इसी स्थान पर इनका परिनिर्वाण चौरासी (84) वर्ष की अवस्था में हुआ था। ये अन्तिम ‘केवलज्ञानी’ माने जाते है। यहाँ मन्दिर निर्माण से पूर्व ही दिगम्बर जैनियों द्वारा जम्बूस्वामी की पूजा होती रही है। इस मन्दिर का निर्माण मनीराम ने करवाया। मन्दिर के लिए अजितनाथ की मूर्ति रघुनाथ दास ने ग्वालियर के एक उजड़े हुए मन्दिर से लाकर दी। 1870 में नैनसुख ने यहाँ कार्तिक के महिने में पंचवी से द्वादशी तक मेले की परम्परा डाली। वार्षिक रथ यात्रा का आयोजन 26 जनवरी को किया जाता है। 1964 ई. में इसका जीर्णोद्धार एवं पुनर्निमाण कराया।
Jain Mandir is dedicated to Lord Ajitnath, the second Jain Tirthankara. The temple also houses the foot images of Jambuswami that is installed on the main vedi. The foot images were discovered at Jambuswami. Later on when the temple was built they were installed Mathura Samaj. The main idol of the temple Lord Ajitnath has been carved out of white stone. The idol was discovered from Gwaliorduring some excavation work of land. It lay beneath the earth which was then dug out and installed in the temple.
Apart from this there are more 9 vedis in the temple of Lord Parshvanatha, Lord Neminath and Lord Mahavira. Digambar Jain Mandir, Mathura Chaurasi, Mathura, Uttar PradeshTwo special vedis have also been constructed here for the standing karyotsargs statues of first Kevali Bahubali Swami and last Kevali Jambu Swami. The two statues facing each other has been made artistically temple.
The main temple houses a big hall which has the capacity of accommodating more than 500 people for puja and discourses. Apart from these Jain Gurukul Mandir, Adinath Mandir, Jambu Swami Bada Mandir are also located here that are worth visiting.
How to reach:
By Road – It is situated on N.H. 2 (Delhi Mathura Highway) 4 Km north of Mathura. The temple and statues are visible and has entry gate on National Highway. If coming by Bus etc. you can get down on Govardhan Chauraha (1 KM, which has slip road to Govardhan and Krishna Janambhumi) and approach temple by rickshaw.
By Train – Nearest Station is Mathura on Main Delhi-Mumbai line and all major trains stops here is 5 km from Place.
