JALMANDIR, PAWAPURI HAS A 600 FOOT LONG BRIDGE


The temple of Jal Mandir is a marble temple located in the middle of a lake along with lotuses. Jal Mandir is made in shape of Vimana. The sanctum of temple enshrines old “Charan Paduka” of Lord Mahavira 2543 year. The temple marks the space where Lord Mahavira attained Samadhi and was cremated later. The temple is believed to be constructed by King Nandivardhan, the elder brother of Lord Mahavira.
There is a 600 ft long stone bridge, which connects the temple and bank of pond. According to mythology, when Lord Mahavira cremated, there was a great rush of people to get his ashes due to which huge amount soil was removed from the place of his cremation and a pond was created.
