Jains take out grand yatra to mark ‘Chaturmas’


Nagpur: Spreading the message of peace and non-violence, Jain devotees took out a Chaturmas pravesh shobhayatra that passed through various areas on Wednesday.

The shobhayatra, organized by Shri Ajitnath Jain Shwetambar Mandir Trust and Shri Wardhaman Nagar Shwetambar Jain Sangh, welcomed Manish Sagar Maharaj who arrived in the city and will stay here for four months.

The shobhayatra started from Shri Ajitnath Jain Shwetambar Mandir in Itwari with chariots forming part of it as devotees chanted slogans of ‘Jain dharma ki jai’.

Banners highlighting the importance of non-violence, truth and shedding greed were seen during the rally. Many devotees were seen playing ‘dholak’. Manish Sagar Maharaj is a disciple of Atmayogi Mahendra Sagar and spreads the message of peace and non-violence.
